Geologic time- Paleogene time

Summary
My Geologic time period  of Paleogene that happened in 65-24 million years ago its described in three parts of Oligocene which starts with a minor extinction like pigs ,cat ,rat etc in 36 million years ago .Eocene mammals abound and Paleocene the first large mammals and  seeming to primate this time a diverse of animals extinct.

Reflections
  1. What did you enjoy most about this project?
somethings that t enjoyed the most about this project was that i found information on my own and i also worked with a partner that we gave each others thought it was cool.

2.What was the most challenging part about this project?why?
The most challenging about this project was finding information because their was many different websites to look for information so it was hard to know which one was the right information.

3.What you change about this project? Why?
Something i would change about this project is that i would try to work alone because sometime working independently would help you to understand how much skill you have.also if you work alone u dont have to argue with other person.

4.What are three things that you learned from this project?
  • I learn how to make video and add pictures.
  • Paleogene period favored the birds during this period new species evolved.
  • in the paleogene time there were many large flightless bird that are now extinct in addition increase in numbers of variety of species.

THE STARS

  •  What is a star?
A star is a huge glowing  ball of hot gas that held together by gravity. In addition they create large amount of heat and light through nuclear fusion. Stars are made of  in a giant clouds of dust and gas called the stellar nebula. Sometimes the part of the cloud gets smaller because gravity.

There are 4 types of stars example main sequence ,white dwarfs are small dense type of stars and dim.  A super giants stars  are among the most massive stars in our universe.
giants, and main sequence is the stage where a star spends most of its existence. The H-R diagram is graphical tool that astronomers used to organize stars according to their different luminosity, spectral class , colors ,temperature and evolutionary stage. The nuclear fusion is a reaction inside a star change two hydrogen gas molecules into a helium molecule this is how stars makes energy.

Planet of Earth

Earth

Planet order 3 from the sun
Distance from the sun is 149million kilometers
Mass: 5.974x1024  kilograms

Rotation: 365.2422 times over a period.
Revolution :The revolution is called the year. The earth takes 365.25 day to revolve around the sun. It is during this year or revolution that  brings  earth it's seasons.
 number of moon 1 terrestrial.
Planet description:
Earth the third planet from the sun. Earth helps to keep the temperature here just right for life.
  Interesting facts:
71 percent of the earth is covered in water, which all living things rely on,  in on way or another
Earth's called the blue planet because of all the water.  Earth surface have all kinds of things on it.It is mostly made of mountain hills and deserts.                   Facts About Earth

Hurricane Irene Project

Critical thinking

1. What is a hurricane?
A hurricane is a storm that develops in tropical ocean which have strong winds and cause flooding which will damage many things like houses, trees and a lot of pollutions that does through the ocean and less economics by damaging houses and cars on the streets and effects many people and the environments.

2.what is a high tide and what causes it?
Tides are the daily rise and fall of the ocean water level.
A high tide is when the water rise up and the cause of tides are changing of the moon, earth, and the water level.
Two main types of tide are called the spring tide and neap tides.

3.What does saturation (zone) mean?
the saturation zone is the area that is filled with water.

4.What is flooding and why it is dangerous?
A flooding is when the water flood over to unusually places like on the streets. And the cause of flooding are hurricane, heavy precipitation overflowing and snow melting.

Reflection
1.What is something that you liked about this mini-project?
Something that i liked about this mini-project is the fact we studied a lot of topics about Hurricane Irene how it effected people and the environments. And i also i learned a lot about Hurricane Irene and it effect people and the environments.
2.What was difficult for you on this project?
Things that was difficult for me was some vocabulary words on the other topics that i didn't had to studied on the group table.
3.What would you change about your work on this project?
Things that i would change in my work would be to get more useful information to each topic. so that i would provide more useful answers to the questions that i have.

4.How did this project help you learn about Hurricane Irene?
This project helped me learn a lot about Hurricane Irene by learning some of the vocabulary words when there is a Hurricane Irene because before i didn't know a lot about Hurricane Irene and how it effect people and the environments. It also helped me learn more by exchanging information with other students during the presentations.
